The Toshiba Thrive made a swaggering debut back in January, essentially claiming to be miles better than the iPad, but ultimately the tablet received a lukewarm reception in the US. Will it see a UK release? Meh.
One problem with the Toshiba Thrive was its abundant chunkiness, but rumour has it good old Tosh is planning to unveil a significantly slimmer tablet at IFA. Indeed, this new Toshiba tablet will supposedly be half as thin as the Thrive.
While the Toshiba Thrive boasted full size USB and HDMI ports, this new chap is thought to have microfied USB, SD and HDMI.
Other specs are thin on the ground, other than the processor. It’s said to be a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP4460 affair. Noice. Presumably Android 3.1 (Honeycomb) will perform the OS honours.
This year’s IFA gets underway on Friday. More news on Toshiba’s third tablet – and a host of other goodies – to follow.
