Three new Toshiba tablets: Excite Pure, Excite Pro, Excite Write

Three new Toshiba tablets: Excite Pure, Excite Pro, Excite WriteJapanese manufacturer Toshiba is no stranger to the tablet market, though it’s yet to make its mark in a field dominated by Apple, Samsung and Asus.

Tosh is looking to change all that with no less than three spanking new tablets, namely the Toshiba Excite Pure, Excite Pro and Excite Write. Exciting.

The Toshiba Excite Pure is the budget one, basically, offering “essential performance and features at a lower price point” ($299).

Toshiba Excite Pure specs include a 10.1in display (1280 x 800), Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a 3MP rear camera.

As for the Toshiba Excite Pro ($499.99), it has a 10.1in display (2560 x 1600), Tegra 4 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, and an 8MP rear camera.

The Toshiba Excite Write ($599.99) is much the same as the Excite Pro, ‘cept with stylus compatibility in the form of a digitiser display with 1,024 pressure points. As such, it throws in a couple of apps called TruPen and TruNote.

In any case, you’re getting micro-HDMI and microSD compatibility, stereo speakers, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.2).

There’s also an optional keyboard cover, featuring a “raised tile Bluetooth keyboard and magnetized notch”. Lovely.

Sounds like all three will be coming to the UK too, priced £299 (Excite Pure), £349 (Excite Pro) and £499 (Excite Write). Excited?
