We recently wrote about a Toshiba company exec Down Under claiming the company's upcoming tablet was superior to the Apple iPad 2.
Now Amazon has come in and dished up some official details on a new pre-order page for the Tosh slate, as well as posting a hatful of high-quality pictures.
It's Amazon's US site that's gone live with a page for the Toshiba tablet – we still don't have an official model name to go on – and while you can't pre-order one yet, you can register your interest to be notified when that changes.
More interesting, though – especially to us here in the UK – is the spec listing and photo set the online retailer has slapped up, confirming that we're talking about a 10.1in tablet powered by an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor.
It runs Android 3.0 Honeycomb, as we'd been told, while the other highlights of what is a long list of specifications include a full-sized USB 2.0 port to go with the more commonly seen mini-USB connector, a 1280 x 800 resolution from that 10.1in touchscreen plus a 2-megapixel front-facing webcam. Both the back cover and the battery are interchangeable.
And just in case you're looking to tick those other main boxes, there's also a 5MP camera round the back, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, an SD card reader, 3.5mm socket, GPS, accelerometer and digital compass. A fully featured kitchen sink is an optional extra.
There's still nothing on price and availability, but we're still hoping for a release sometime around May or June.
