Six new TouchPad trademarks filed by HP

Six new TouchPad trademarks filed by HPWe’re still patiently awaiting the HP TouchPad, officially revealed over four months ago, but Pocketnow has sexed things up a notch with the news that HP has filed no less than six new TouchPad-related trademarks.

Unfortunately there’s not much to go on at this early stage other than the names. Indeed, it’s not entirely clear if they’ll be tablets or services. In any case, the newly trademarked names are:

  • TouchPadFlex
  • TouchPadPro
  • TouchPadTwin
  • TouchPadGeo
  • TouchPad7
  • TouchPadGo

Presumably the TouchPad7 will be a 7in variation of the 9.7in HP TouchPad; the TouchPadTwin could be a dual-screen affair; the TouchPadPro might rock some sort of slide-out keyboard. Maybe. It’s anyone’s guess.

In other webOS news, TFTS reports that HP – keen to pull off an Apple-style makeover in an attempt to appear “cool” – is working on an iCloud-style service of its own, with music, films and TV shows.

We can’t imagine Apple will be too fussed, but it’s undoubtedly good news for faithful webOS peeps.

I'm bored of this tablet already and it's not even out yet, I do get annoyed when companies announce a piece of tech and then don't make it available until months later.

Agree.
The TouchPad and Pre 3 seem to have been in pre-release for decades.
HP aside, I reckon most tabs we have read about in the past 6 months will never hit any stores.
