Turning off the keyboard sounds

I was having trouble finding out how to turn off the damn keyboard sounds. It seems you need to go to Settings > Sound > uncheck Audible Touch Tones.

I thought that turning off Audible Selection would do the trick, but it doesn't. I kind of wanted to keep the phone touch tone sounds, but I can't do that without also having the keyboard sounds on.

I think in terms of audio-settings Android is still a mess.
The separartion of media- vs system-settings vs cam sound, keypad sounds etc etc... very messy.
E.g.: when I set my phone to silent, I want it to be silent. If I then click on a vid, I expect the vid to start in silent mode. If I hit a weblink and come to a site with audio plugins, I don't want to hear that bullsh*t, because I set my phone to silent.
With all the smartness of today's mobile OSs they should be able to implement a smarter way to set such options.

I think you're looking in the wrong place. (On my HTC) It's Settings -> Language and Keyboard -> Touch Input -> Text Input -> Sound Feedback.

Must be a feature of TouchWiz then hehe. In the Language and Keyboard area I don't have any Touch Input option.
