What's the best UK mobile network - in terms of price, coverage, 4G, reliability - in and around central London?

Any network with 4G support. If you have 4G data works, if you don't have 4G data doesn't work. Calls are same for any network.
Pick whichever allowance fits your wallet.

As said above, you'll need 4G to have usable mobile data in the capital, sadly.
Coverage - probably EE due to them being an amalgamation of two large networks and having a massive headstart with their 4G launch. However, this will depend entirely on your actual location; there's always a chance you live/work in an EE dead spot.
Price - Tesco or GiffGaff or Three all offer 4G at no added cost, I believe. Tesco and GG are O2 based networks and Three run their own network.
Reliability - again, probably EE due to the fact they're such a large network. I know they had an outage a few weeks ago, but that was the exception which proves the rule, so to speak.
4G - all the major network have 4G now, they just vary on: price, coverage and network speed.
Speed - probably Three, they tend to be the best network for data, but obviously it depends on your actual location the same as coverage does.
