Has anyone in the UK ever been prosecuted for illegal downloads?

Has anyone in the UK ever been prosecuted for illegal downloads? Say I was looking to... acquire Game of Thrones for my commute. I mean it's on Sky anyway.

PeerBlock and a decent VPN (private internet access is good, cheap option) and you'll be safer than 99%+ of the population. Also, don't seed torrented files after you've finished downloading, you want to be connected for the least possible amount of time.

The record labels and studios go for the low hanging fruit, the people who torrent on a "naked" internet connection. Take some steps to make yourself no longer part of that group and your chances of getting caught plummet.

Oh and yes, it's illegal. Though for personal use breach of copyright is a civil matter, not a criminal one. That doesn't stop you getting sued for thousands of pounds though.
