Unsync messages on iPhone and iPad?

iOS 6 has synced my iMessages on iPhone and iPad. How do I make it so iMessages only go to my iPhone?

From memory, on your ipad going itno settings and scroll down to "messages", there should be an option to disable imsg

Well,
it makes sense to let you disable individual services individually. When I use iDevices, I like my contacts and email synced, but I have no need (usually) for my camera roll on all devices at all times.

It's not perfect, but: no tech company oughta play nanny. There's some responsibility on our, the consumers' part.
I have seen a lot worse - I have set up SGS3 phones, and while I was still going through the set-up routine of a fresh device, in the background my entire Picasa gallery was downloaded to the phone. Simply because I input my gmail account during the initial phase of set up. No warning, no prompt. Just the usual "to use Google services such as the Play Store, yada yada"... Has I been on 3G a massive chunk of my data allowance would have been depleted without my consent. And - I was only setting up the device for a colleague. In a rush I might never have checked the gallery...

Once you avail of background and cloud services, YOU MUST smarten up. Too much of our stuff is in places where we do not want it. Scandals such as Snowden's PRISM revelations and Assange's warnings long before that etc etc etc... those things were all over the news. If that doesn't teach caution, nothing will. And rather than blaming Apple or x, y, and z - we can only blame ourselves.
