Tethered jailbreaking really ain’t ideal. If your battery runs out while you’re on the move, you’re absolutely screwed unless you can find a computer with the right jailbreaking tool.
Good news for iPhone 4S owners who fancy a spot of jailbreaking then, as an untethered offering is on the way. Huzzah!
iOS developer and member of the Chronic Dev Team, DHowett, has posted a video on YouTube, showing us what’s in store. Namely willy nilly rebooting.
Incidentally, the video has had over half a million views in just a few days. Bloomin’ ‘eck.
For all you cynics out there (er, including me), we can see it’s an iPhone 4S – as opposed to a plain old iPhone 4 – from the SIM slot and the four bars round the outside. Oh, and don’t forget Siri.
The untethered iPhone 4S happily reboots, finds the network and launches Cydia. Good times. Cydia, too, recognises the device as an iPhone 4S.
DHowett even asks Siri what the weather’s like, just in case there was any doubt about the functionality of the untethered iPhone 4S. Sweet.
