Update to address Asus Transformer Prime random reboots

Update to address Asus Transformer Prime random rebootsIs there any end to the Asus Transformer Prime’s woes? We’ve had pre-order issues and stock shortages on both sides of the Atlantic, issues with W-Fi, Hasbro suing over the Optimus Prime-inspired name, and more recently Clove announced that it wouldn’t sell its current stock due to unspecified “faults with the model”. Phew.

On the plus side, Asus is about to fire out an update to address the reported problem with random reboots.

Asus made the announcement on its Facebook page this morning, saying: “All of you lucky Prime owners should be receiving a FOTA update soon.

"This is to fix the random reboot issue that some users have been experiencing. Let us know how you get on with it.”

As one guy rightly asked: “Lucky? Is that a joke?”

With regards to stock, Asus adds: “The majority of our resellers have now fulfilled their back orders so more free stock should be available soon.
Please check with your preferred reseller as to how they are allocating their units and how best to get your hands on one!”

Yeah, I’ll get right on that, Asus. Sounds like a barrel of laughs.

Poor asus, after hitting the ground running with the original transformer they seem to have stumbled a bit with its follow up, maybe they were too keen in trying to rush it out before xmas? Still its still quite a beast of a machine
