How do I update the firmware on my T-Mobile G2

I've had a G2 for about 14 months and have just found out it is still using version 1.5 of the firmware, I thought the android platform was up to about 2.1/2.2 now? There is no force update in the settings menu. Any help or links to guides would be massively appreciated.

T-Mobile pulled the plug on the original Android 2.1 update in June last year. But I think to check for a current OTA update from T-Mobile you need to HAVE this update from HTC. Without that update, your G2 won't find the correct Over-The-Air update. You should get more info from customer care. It's their job ;) Don't be shy :)

Yeah I tried ringing both "customer service" & going into the store. They both were a waste of time. I can't believe this isn't a more common problem. I'll give the HTC link a go. See where I end up.
Thanks for your advice

Updated the ROM from the link you sent JanSt, soon as I'd sync'd it all the firmware updgrades & updates came through. From what I've seen so far 2.2 is far better than the 1.5. Cheers for the help

Oh good.
That should breathe some new life into your G2 - loads of new apps available now, too. :)
