More of an update than a balls-out spanking new story, but in case you spent yesterday lying in a ditch with a stonking great hangover, we were saying that the OnePlus One had been delayed for an unspecified amount of time.
Turns out that time was incredibly short, as a statement from the start-up reveals that the OnePlus One is shipping from... today!
There was something about the vague wording of the email to customers (Imgur) that sounded a tad ominous.
Phrases like “we can’t yet confirm the exact date that the phone will ship” and “will get the phone to you as soon as we possibly can” did little to reassure those who were lucky enough to be counted among the first batch of owners.
Ultimately, it wasn’t clear if the OnePlus One would be delayed for days, weeks or even months, and this rather defensive reddit Android post didn’t shed any light.
But hey! No need for concern. The first batch of OnePlus Ones is officially shipping from today.
The guys tell TechRadar: "The CyanogenMod team worked very quickly and efficiently and the OpenSSL issues have already been fixed. The first OnePlus Ones ship to early users with invites as early as tomorrow." Er, tomorrow being today.
Again, OnePlus One specs include a 5.5in 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, 13MP rear camera, 3,100mAh battery, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, and CyanogenMod 11S, with the price set at £229 (16GB, Silk White) or £269 (64GB, Sandstone Gray).
