What's the best value-for-money Blackberry?

Which Blackberry phone gives the best value for money? I can't really afford £500 for one of the new ones!!!!

8520 - Cheap as chips and does pretty much everything you would want a blackberry to do. Battery lasts an eternity. OK it doesn't have the best screen resolution and it isn't touchscreen but for £130ish it does just fine.

It doesn't have 3G, does it?

No, matt, the BlackBerry 8520 is 2G only, but with RIM's data compression - that hardly matters. The browser isn't Flash capable anyways. The 3G 9300 is an alternative - it's coming down in price now.

Currently using a 'loan' Bold 9900 - not mentioning HOW great it is -, I hardly ever enable 3G. Twitter, email, browsing etc all work as well on 2G/EDGE as on most phones with 3G.
A 3G Blackberry is of course the better choice if you really really rely on fast email - in case BIS and BES are down. In that case you can use online mail clients or 3rd party apps and THEN 3G helps things move along speedily.
There, did I mention just HOW good the Bold 9900 is?

I accidently started a flame war last time I mentioned mt Blackbury.
P.S. Still hate it. Its rubbish even a email but I think its mostly the non-touchscreen of the Bold that gets to me. Probberbly the newer touch screen enabled Blackburys would be ok.
