I don't see the point, you're just using the app or features of an app in a small cut down window. I'd much rather launch the app and use it full screen as it's intended to be.

So, opening settings, clicking WiFi and then ON is more convenient? Or: Email, pick accout, inbox, reply - instead of getting straight to the new mail?

Not saying Velox is perfect - it'd be better in a sidebar or pullsown menu to be accessible from anywhere. And there are such alternatives.
But it is nice eyecandy with at least some level of usefulness.
It beats a weather widget that hogs RAM without telling you more than a look out the window... :p

I kind of agree, it's nice and flash but I don't see a massive improvement or change to how I currently use an iPhone, especially an iPhone with sbssettings on it. Now if you could open more than one preview at once (multitasking) that would be interesting! Tricky to implement tho

I get your points. Partly agree - that is why I said, "coolest...like, evah?"!
But tbf, it's not even launched, yet. Not even a beta; and I'm sure over time it'll become useful in addition to "cool". SB- Settings wasn't perfect when it first launched, and in fact, these days it IS NOT the must have tweak it used to be. A combination of some other newer tweaks and apps can comfortably replace it.
When I used the iPhone 5 I found myself using SBsettings less and less - thanks to Auxo, IntelliscreenX and So on.
But yes, Velox is definitely more eyecandy than usefulness. Still, I think the design is excellent, and shows a lot of promise.

Time will tell.

Anyhoo... Launching sometime this week. $1.99

Okay... Velox was launched yesterday (May 4th) - updated today.
Had a quick play on a friend's iPhone 5. It's very neat.
Yes, usefullness is questionable - swipe on an icon to see notifications or glimpse at a map, contacts, etc etc.... Various taskswitchers do it as efficiently or even better. Hey, in many cases the notification 'center' will do the job; or: just open the app. But it IS nice eyecandy.

It boils down to how you use the phone, I guess. And obviously they are going to add features, and devs of other apps will adapt their tweaks to Velox, also.

Is it worth $1.99? If you regularly drink a quarter of the cup before you toss that £3 styrofoamed coffee, yes. If not, who knows...

If I had an iPhone, I might wait a while and see what else they come up with.
Cool it is, though.
Obviously, since I used it on somebody else's phone and it's only been out a few hours, I cannot say anything about impact on battery and RAM ;)

Had another chance to use it. For some features I see definite "value" - for the music player it can replace a widget, and you don't need to use the bomebutton - a notoriously fragile piece of hardware. ( okay, Auxo etc do that, too)

Already new plugins for Velox appearing in Cydia.
So, guess Velox may soon live up to the hype.
