ViewSonic prepping ViewPad G70 tablet

ViewSonic prepping ViewPad G70 tabletUS manufacturer ViewSonic now officially accounts for close to 90% of the world’s tablets. Ok, not really, but it’s probably not far off.

Hopefully you’ve got room in your belly for yet another Viewsonic tablet, as the mysterious ViewPad G70 has popped up courtesy of an online retailer in the States.

The retailer in question is Cost Central, and it’s offering the ViewSonic ViewPad G70, new and factory sealed, for $311.99 (around £200), a tad less than the listed MSRP of $349.

The brief product description suggests the ViewSonic ViewPad G70 will have a 7in display, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage, front and rear cameras, and Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0).

Desperate to get your hands on one? Well, too bad. It’s currently out of stock. There’s not even a picture to go on at the moment.

Will ViewSonic be at Mobile World Congress? Does anyone care?

Excellent. Those tab makers clog up tech supply companies workshops with rubbish parts for rubbish products that no one wants. Meanwhile decent products suffer shortages of parts... What a world.

tab moratorium NOW!

Do I care? Not really. The only tabs of any interest are the iPad and, to a lesser extent, the Kindle fire.

Android Tablet manufacturers have to learn to build and sell a tablet on Androids strengths over iOS, make sure as standard they have

a) an SD card slot and USB (with OTG enabled) and HDMI, micro ports acceptable but full sized prefered
b) A docking station with HDMI mirroring and USB OTG

After which, start courting Ubuntu for Android and/or windows 8 along with a keyboard docking station so the Android OS boots in tablet mode and the full OS boots in docked mode.

After which brace yourself for the influx of cash

yes, good points! What's up with Tabs that have a full USB port, but, out-of-the-box, no file explorer, and no read-write capability? LOL...
