ViewSonic shows off two new(ish) tablets (Computex 2011)

ViewSonic shows off two new(ish) tablets (Computex 2011)California-based manufacturer ViewSonic is over in Taipei at the moment, showing off its new wares at the Computex conference.

ViewSonic, which modestly describes itself as “a leading global provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions” in an accompanying press release, has revealed the ViewPad 7x for the first time.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 7x has, as you might guess, a 7in display, and will be the first 7in tablet to ship with Honeycomb. You missed the boat there, HTC Flyer. It weighs 380g and also has an HDMI port.

Meanwhile, the ViewSonic ViewPad 10Pro, which we played with at Mobile World Congress, has two claims to fame. It’ll be the first tablet to dual-boot with Android and Windows 7 Professional. It allows “an instantaneous switch between the two OSes without turning off the tablet”. Nice.

The ViewSonic ViewPad 10Pro will also be the first to use the latest Intel Oak Trail Processor.

No word on UK release dates or pricing just yet.

This tablet is so close to what I am after, tho not quite there yet unfortunatly....

I would really like a 7" tablet with a chip/GPU that can playback 1080p (so I can playback, and maybe oneday edit, my HD camcorder footage), HDMI out and maybe even TV out through the headphone socket) and a full USB slot with Host functionality. Oh and for less than £249,is that so difficult to ask? :)
