Right, time to clean up some random news spillage; we’ll get to Nokia and Motorola later in the day, dig?
Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) Virgin Media has lifted the lid on four new Virgin Mobile SIM only tariffs. In a nutshell: unlimited data and texts for all!
The four options range from £12 to £25, with existing Virgin Media customers saving a fiver on the latter. Can’t argue with that.
Here they is, in all their glory:
- £12 – 150 minutes
- £15 – 250 minutes
- £17 – 1200 minutes
- £25 – 2500 minutes and unlimited landline calls
Again, all tariffs offer unlimited data and texts, as well as unlimited calls to other Virgin Mobile numbers.
As far as I can tell, all Virgin Mobile SIM only tariffs are of the 30-day rolling type. Let me know if I’m blind/drunk/an idiot.
Initial thoughts are that the £12 offering isn’t as attractive as the £10 giffgaff offer with unlimited texts and data, 250 minutes, and unlimited giffgaff-to-giffgaff calls. Indeed, the Virgin Mobile equivalent is £15. Of course, maybe - like Matt - you despise O2 (giffgaff's dad).
Virgin Mobile, meanwhile, rides Everything Everywhere, benefiting from the joint coverage of Orange and T-Mobile.
