Virgin Mobile customers to enjoy Orange network goodness

Virgin Mobile customers to enjoy Orange network goodnessVirgin Mobile has announced that its customers can now use the Orange network in addition to T-Mobile. Good times.

As a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Virgin Mobile previously used the T-Mobile network alone, however T-Mo and Orange hooked up earlier this year to form Everything Everywhere.

New Virgin Mobile customers will automatically benefit from the dual-network action, while existing customers are in the process of being contacted. The latter can opt in by texting YES to 789777.

The MVNO has put up a handy help page for handsets. For example, Virgin Mobile customers with an HTC Desire will have to go to Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks (Set options for roaming, networks, APNs) and tick ‘Connect to data services when roaming’ under ‘Data roaming section’.

And that’s the end of that, brother.

Hmmm not so sure ths is a good thing, im a Tmobile user and so can also use the Orange network when the Tmobile network falls down and my heart sinks every time I see "orange" as my provider as their data service is RUBBISH, ive received letters via the royal mail faster than hotmail has loaded while on orange :/

That's because as a T-Mobile user accessing the Orange network, you only have access to their 2G signal, even if you're in a 3G Orange area.

Still using hotmail? Shame on you. Time to get Android Mail.
