Vodafone was in the running for some exclusive HTC Evo 3D action at one point, but has now pulled a u-turn and ditched the autostereoscopic smartphone completely.
The HTC Evo 3D mysteriously vanished from Vodafone’s Coming Soon section, and the network has confirmed that it’ll no longer carry the phone.
A Vodafone spokesperson told TechRadar: "We've decided that due to delays to the launch of the device, we no longer plan to include the EVO 3D in our smartphone range."
It’s not clear in what capacity the HTC Evo 3D has been delayed. Mobile Phones Direct is sticking with “mid September”, Amazon still reckons September 12, and Play.com suggests September 5.
Those who had pre-registered with Vodafone will be contacted and informed of the network’s decision.
The spokesperson added: "We realise this will come as a disappointment to some people but we already offer some fantastic phones, like the HTC Sensation and Galaxy S2, with some really exciting handsets in the pipeline and we'll continue to focus on bringing the latest and greatest smartphones to Vodafone customers."
