Vodafone Emporia is basic as furgEver feel like smartphones are getting a little ridiculous? Do you fondly recall simpler times in which we used our phones exclusively for texting and calling? Then the Vodafone Emporia RL1 is the phone for you, my friend.

Vodafone is going back to basics and then some with the Vodafone Emporia RL1. Forget Android and widgets and apps and all that nonsense; this bad boy is all about battery life and big giant “larger than average” buttons.

The Vodafone Emporia RL1 has a 1.8in OLED display, with standby time of up to eight days and 180 minutes talk time. Camera? This is a phone, you idiot. The Vodafone Emporia RL1 does, however, have an alarm clock, calendar and calculator.

And how much will the Vodafone Emporia RL1 set you back? £60. We can’t help but think that the Orange San Francisco is only £20-30 more. The Motorola Flipout was also kicking around for £50 the other week.

Still, the Vodafone Emporia RL1 might suit a relative with basic mobile needs. You can read more about the Emporia RL1 at Vodafone.
