Good to see Three has started advertising its Feel At Home proposition, as it’s really stonkingly great value i.e. free. I called/texted/browsed my butt off in New Orleans back in April, and it didn’t cost me a penny.
Vodafone is kinda sorta taking a page out of Three’s book, kinda sorta doing away with roaming charges, but kinda sorta (i.e. actually) saying: “That’ll be £5 per day, boss.”
Voda-“Big Red”-fone already had a little something called EuroTraveller, which essentially lets you use your domestic mobile allowance in eligible European countries for £2 per day.
Enter: WorldTraveller. It’s much the same thing, but encompasses Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Ghana, India, New Zealand, Qatar, South Africa, and the USA. What a motley crew. Again, that’ll be £5 per day, please.
And heck, not forgetting Data Traveller, which gives you 25MB for £5, haha! Good gawd. To be fair, that just about falls within the European Commission’s new mobile data roaming caps.
And hey, if all that wasn’t enough of a slap on the face, EuroTraveller is going up to £3/day after August 31. Vive la Vodafone!
