I've never really understood the big deal with colour exclusives, to be honest. Let's be honest – a good phone is a good phone and a crap phone is a crap phone. It's not like someone's going to change their mind when they realise “oh, but you've got a blue crap phone – that changes everything”.
That's not to say that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo is crap. But it is to say that there's an exclusive red version incoming, and you'll only be able to get it from Vodafone.
Much like the Samsung Galaxy flock, Sony Ericsson's Xperia range is starting to get so numerous that there's always one or two you leave out when trying to tally them up. And the Neo ends up being one of the more likely subjects to be overlooked in the Xperia line, simply because it's a broadly impressive, well kitted out Android contender rather than a spectacular game-changer.
It boasts a 3.7in screen, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Android Gingerbread, along with various Sony bells and whistles as seen on the more notable Xperia Play and Xperia Arc.
And soon it'll be available in red. As per usual, it's Vodafone indulging in this colour-changing exercise, having nabbed exclusive rights to unleash the Xperia Neo in a shade rather similar to its own branding – some pretty basic branding psychology going on here, it's safe to say.
No word yet on when the red Xperia Neo will be available, but you can keep tabs for yourself on the handset's Coming Soon page over on Vodafone.
