It seems Vodafone have been having issues when porting their new customers numbers over to the network. It normally takes up to 24 hours for a number to transfer from your old provider to Vodafone, although in some cases it appears there have been a mix-up on Vodafone's part causing huge delays.
Understandably customers are getting rather annoyed at this point, and contacting customer support to resolve the issue seems more hassle than it’s worth, especially after being passed from pillar to post to get a resolution.
In some instances there have been phone numbers that have been with the same customer for a number years, but when calling it you are greeted by another customer who is also waiting for their number to be ported over to Vodafone! This problem can and has affected small businesses that rely on such services to be swift and accurate, as being without a contact number for just a few days, could indeed lose you a lot of potential business. If you opt to have your banking alerts sent to your phone, or even medical information regarding appointments. Someone at the other end of the country could rather innocently be receiving them.
