Vodafone has seemingly been studying the OnePlus form of marketing, with the Smart 4 Power headline – in bold red – being “No compromises”.
Alas, the Vodafone Smart 4 Power is really exactly what you’d expect from an in-house, carrier branded phone i.e. fairly mediocre specs but with an affordable price tag.
The marketing guys promise a “High definition screen and pristine design. No need to settle for anything less”, which really just sets the scene for disappointment.
Starting with that “High definition” 5in display, well, at 540 x 960, it’s roughly a quarter of the way to full 1080p HD.
Other Vodafone Smart 4 Power specs include a 5MP rear camera, unspecified front shooter, quad-core MediaTek processor, 4GB storage (with microSD), 1GB of RAM, NFC (Near Field Communication), 4G LTE, and – to be fair – a meaty 3,000mAh battery.
No need to settle for anything less? There’s not a great deal less to settle for, marketing guys. Oh, you and your hyperbole machines.
Fancy it? The Vodafone Smart 4 Power is available in store (not seeing it online just yet) for £175 on PAYG, or on contract from £26.50.
