Big Red Vodafone is no stranger to tablets, and indeed the Smart Tab 4 marks the network’s – you guessed it – fourth tablet release.
Landing in the same week as the Huawei-built EE Eagle, the Vodafone Smart Tab 4 has similarly modest specs, and an even lower price point.
Diving straight into Vodafone Smart Tab 4 specs, we have an 8in display (the “perfect” size, supposedly) with 800 x 1280 resolution (technically "HD"), and a quad-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.2GHz.
Further Vodafone Smart Tab 4 specs include 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage (with microSD welcoming up to 64GB), a 2MP rear camera, VGA front shooter, and 4,060mAh battery.
The EE Eagle has the same display size and resolution, but the processor is clocked higher, it has a 5MP rear camera, there’s 16GB internal storage out of the box (also with microSD support), and it’s 4G-enabled – compared to 3G on the Vodafone Smart Tab 4.
As such, it’s no surprise to learn that the Vodafone Smart Tab 4 price is significantly lower, with the tablet going for £125 on PAYG, or from £29 on contract.
There are actually three contract options at £29, specifically £20, £25 or £30PM, with 2GB, 4GB or 10GB of monthly 3G data respectively. At 24 months, you’re looking at £509, £629 and £749 total.
Alternatively, you can pay £79 up-front for the Vodafone Smart Tab 4, and £16PM, which comes to £463 total, though with just 1GB of 3G data per month.
Coming in black only, the Vodafone Smart Tab 4 is available now from ye olde Vodafone Shoppe.
