In what ways is Windows Phone 8 behind Android and iOS?

I've heard Windows Phone 8 described as a bit "behind" Android and iOS?
What sort of stuff can Windows Phone 8 not do? You can copy and paste -- am I right? ;)

Yes, you can copy/paste in WP8. The keyboard is pretty good also.

Here's what's missing: access to the file system. Yes, you can see photos and music and videos. That is it.
No native file manager. With a Windows PC you can connect in Media Transfer Protocol mode to exchange certain file types.

Photo gallery is well designed but still lacks basic features such as showing a photo's 'details' (date taken, size, exposure etc), you cannot sort by date added etc.... Very little freedom, really. Picky? Well, if you store 2,000 pics, you need more convenience.
And especially the high-end Lumia devices that come along as camera phones should offer appropriate features. (Instead you get 'Lenses' - which are really just a bunch of filters that 1,000s of 3rd party apps do just as well.)

Many hip apps are also still absent - Vine for Twitter etc... Others, like Twitter itself, are inferior to iOS or Android versions.

Access to important settings are still awkward - WiFi, BT toggles? Nah... some ugly 3rd party 'Tiles' have to do the job.

Video: The 'Video player' only 'finds' videos imported via Zune or iTunes etc... if they are imported as movies. If you sync a photo folder that contains videos you shot with a cam, they are in the photo gallery. IDIOTIC! Apparently WP's own native apps have no access to the file system LOL
In addition: WP relies heavily on Cloud services if you wanna get anything done - again, partly because of the restricted file access. A bit like early iOS.

They are my main gripes.

The annoying thing is this: some things are quite nice. The whole OS/UI is very very fast and smooth and has some nice subtle effects. The browser is pretty good, too, as is the email client. Then suddenly some truly idiotic thing hits you.
Like: on the Lumia that I used, you can do a factory reset, and you can wipe temp files. But you cannot wipe or format the SD card. That is just daft, especially since the Sync with Mac and Linux - and even Windows - isn't perfectly failproof.

Still, it should be built-in.
