What’s a good smartphone for someone with poor sight?

Can anyone recommend a smartphone for a relative with poor eyesight? Are there any that let you make the letters bigger?

Newer Nokia Symbian smartphones usually let you change the fontsize, but it is not system wide... some apps will still use smaller 'print'. There is a third party app in Nokia's Ovi Store that works a bit better.
iOS - Apple's iPhone OS has a feature for the visually impaired - you can tap the screen with 3 fingers, and zoom into any part of the screen. I found it a tad too large, but hey... ;)

I think most Android phones since 2.2 (Froyo) let you adjust fontsize. And there are Android apps that let you finetune fonts further. But again, as with Symbian, I do not believe those changes are applied system-wide - meaning, some menus and apps will still have a small-ish font.
The HTC HD2 has a large screen, and it runs windows mobile 6.5 which lets you increase fonts out-of-the-box (sms, email, browser, menus etc) It has large icons... But winmo 6.5 is not exactly a smartphone newbie OS. Nevertheless, the main phone and messaging functions work in a newb-proof manner...
Overall, imho, iOS's triple-tap zoom is the most elegant solution, and it works everywhere on the phone - even when watching video.
