What’s the HTC Desire HD’s battery life like?

I’ve heard the HTC Desire HD’s battery life is fairly terrible, partly because of the big screen. Do any of you guys have one, and if so – how often do you recharge?

My Desire HD lasts me quite well. The screen, being so large, really drains the battery so turn the brightness down. Since installing Gingerbread I've gone from 2 days standby time to in excess of 4. Now that's with extremely light usage and no mobile internet or wifi. Still it's a massive improvement in battery drain whilst it's not being used which is a good thing. Apart from that there's not much you can do, the wifi, GPS and 3G etc will all drain the battery quicker however it's what you are actually doing with the phone on it's screen that makes the most noticeable difference. But then most of us bought a Desire HD because it has a massive screen, it was always going to have drawbacks.

When I had my Htc Desir HD, I needed to recharge twice a day - but I had to have skype IM on all day, and 3 email accounts were polling every 30 minutes. Plus, I'm doing a fair bit of twittering...
I'm a bad 'average Joe' ;) On the other hand: 3G and WiFi were always disabled, as were automatic market updates.
My Htc HD2 - also with a 4.3'' screen - made it well through a day on a charge with identical usage.
