HTC estimates the battery life of the Magic at up to 400 minutes talk-time for WCDMA, or 450 minutes GSM. Standby time is up to 660 hours for WCDMA, or 420 hours GSM (‘subject to network and phone usage’). Of course, WiFi and data can drain your battery fairly quickly. Also, be aware that it can take a few charge cycles for the battery to become fully conditioned.

I have to charge my phone every day - the battery lasts about 12-14 hours or so of average usage - a few calls, a few texts and twitter, facebook et al. This with no wifi or bluetooth on, but 3G enabled. My phone is generally on vibrate only also. I'm sure the battery has got worse since the move to whatever the latest Android they gave us (Honeycomb?) but it was never brilliant to start with. I actually bought a spare high capacity battery for emergency use and for when I'm travelling away from power.
