Whats the cheapest Android phone thats OFFICIALLY confirmed will support Ice Cream Sandwich

Obviously this will take time for the manufacturers to roll out the official ROMS and for now im ignoring the unofficial ROMS that will pop up on XDA Dev and the like but I was wondering what the cheapest phone is out there at the moment which you could get that would be getting Ice Cream Sandwich at some point.

From my brief search I would suppose the Sony Xperia Play:
Sony announcement here:

Currently fluctuates new around £149-£199 (£152 below)

Any others?

I think you answered your own question, with the Xperia Play, as a new phone.

The only phones which have been CONFIRMED, to be getting ICS are: The Xperia Range (not sure if that counts the old X10, that could actually be cheaper than the play nowadays, though it's likely to be used, not may the Xperia Mini range, though they're VERY small for everyday use IMO...something to research for you there ;)), the Droid RAZR in early 2012 and finally the Galaxy Nexus, which is released in November.

It's a fair bet the SGS2 and Sensation(XE), will also see ICS officially, at some point, though it's not yet been confirmed by either manufacturer. Samsung haven't mentioned it and HTC have said they're looking into the update (meaning they haven't got a clue how hard Sense will be to port, yet :p).

Ha, not long, I was just marviling that the Xperia Play is now around £150 the I saw it was getting ICS and it made me wonder what the cheapest ICS handset would be! Considering the cheapest iOS5 handset (new) is the 3GS at £319 thats a pretty good deal.

@matt101101 - Like you say a lot havent confirmed yet, will be interesting to see how far back they go (incidentally Sony have said its phones from 2011 so I dont think the X10 or mini count)

Oh right, I's just heard it was Android Xperia phones, I did think that sounded a little optimistic haha :D. Xperia phones from 2011, sounds far more believable. In that case, yes, the Play is the cheapest confirmed ICS device, by a very long way. Though knowing Sony, it could take until this time next year for the bloody update to arrive :p.

The next cheapest will be the Xperia 2011 range, going up in price, then the RAZR, then the Galaxy Nexus, which will we wallet cripplingly expensive.

I think we can safely bet that Galaxy range and Desire range will be updated. Obviously anything more powerful from same manufacturer will have it.
Now be reasonable as in Desire S (not original) and not sub £150 (cheap) galaxy models.

Upgrades are based on chipset, RAM and flash memory. If one Snapdragon or Hummingbird gets appropriate drivers it's very easy to update the rest based on same chipset. Probable assumption would be anything with minimum requirements of 512MB RAM, 400MB space (Play) and Snapdragon platform or later, or Hummingbird platform or later will have an update. I doubt nVidia would be getting one anytime soon.
