Two Whatsapp accounts on the same phone?

Is it possible to set up two Whatsapp accounts on the same phone? i.e. each account having its own separate contacts?

You would need either a dual-sim phone or a rooted Android phone and an app like this to have two separate Whatsapp accounts on one phone...
Gee, 1st world problem alert.... I'm glad when the phone doesn't beep or ring :p

What most people want is two separate whatsapp copies, one for each account. It doesn't require root nor special settings on the whatsapp program, just two separate whatsapps.
I'm not a program developer and my knowledge in android apps is zero, but to change the name and directory of the 2nd instance of whatsapp should be easy.

I'm writing all this because I spent hours searching for the most simple thing. Eventually I found OGwhatsapp.
This is an exact copy of whatapp except for the name, and now I have 1 whatsapp and 1 OGwhatsapp.

The only drawback is you have to connect to OGwhatsapp with an exisitng account meaning you should first change your number on your whatsapp to the new one, then use the old one on OGwhatsapp; and it doesn't restore history from whatsapp (I tried a few times, each time OGwhatsapp crashed).

Still, no root required, completely free, the simplest solution.

(n.b. I'm not related to the maker of OGwhatsapp in any way, just found the app a couple of hours ago)
