Are white smartphones girlie?

Settle an argument! My friend is making fun of me for considering a white smartphone. Are they for girls?!?!?!?!?!

I can only speak for one girl (actually, woman, that'll be me, anyway), and I prefer Blue or Titanium Grey (my current phone is a Grey Note 2).

Quite fancied the Garnet Red S3 though. HATE white phones with a passion! Somehow, they look cheaper and naffer than other colours. To me, anyway.

It depends what phone, white BB, then yeah kind of, but big smartphones like the S3 and iPhone, not at all. I have a white S3 and it looks great and non girly!

White phones, white cars, white trousers, white refrigerators... not cool. Not cool.

The sexist aspect aside (and the fear of white refrigerators...), I'm with Believethisguy...
+White clothes, car and phones... yuck! The only white phone I ever used that didn't look cheap and rubbish (what do girls have to do with that - unless you're Kim Kardashian?) was the Nokia E71...

I'd add white trainers and take white fridges from the list, unless you are playing tennis (the trainers not the fridge)
Amusing that size of phone could dictate whether colour is girly

Yeah... What, a Note 3 would be ungirly in pink? :p
The big SGS3 is awful in white imho.
And when white iPhones were the coolest ever, that was mostly down to "men"...

We are talking about an inanimate object that we cradle in our hands, that we tap and pat and wipe and swipe... Basically a Barbie doll without limbs.

... Its not exactly pink isit? Dont hate just because you had to settle for the black one when they ran out of stock of the white!!!!

Well it used to be a manly colour apparently, maybe it's time to reclaim it, you first...

Oh the irony. If it's made by Apple and in white everybody loves it. Yet anything non-Apple and white is girly thus implying less desirable. If you want a white phone just get it!

And I find the white iPhones bad, too. People desperately waiting? Or boinking their warranty with 3rd party conversion kits? LOL And then you put it in a case - and seriously: who buys a white case?

I'm not excluding apple from this, most definitely not.

I have the original galaxy note in white, and IMO it looks way better than black, not girly at all. Everyone who I have shown it to (male and female) says it looks great.
It doesn't really matter what colour as most people have their phone in a case......

Go to America, commit a crime, get sent to prison, walk up to the Aryan Brotherhood and loudly proclaim white is girlie. Report back with your findings.

JanSt / MOD  Mar. 2, 2013 at 07:03

Well, Rubisco - half the Aryan Brotherhood in prison ARE the "girl" on days that end in "-day"...

Agree about the Note - it looks better in white than its weird "grey" sister.

Way to take a silly conversation and dumb it down Rubisco
