When you use Wi-Fi on the iPhone, does it turn off 3G?

Does Wi-Fi supersede 3G on the iPhone?

It should. But I do seem to remember issues with some devices that would switch to 3G when the phone went to 'sleep'... But that is a good while ago. I used a lot of wifi on my iPhone 4 and had zero problems - it stuck to the wifi.

It would make sense to do so wouldn't it, but I suppose you can't really tell while you're browsing?
