Can I still use Wi-Fi with a PAYG sim?

I’m downgrading from contract to PAYG and need to know if wireless will still work.

wi-fi has nothing to do with the mobile network or 3G. when downgrading to PAYG 3G is what you need to watch out for. i would personally get a bolt-on or internet package, if not delete the internet settings from your handset to avoid any adverse charges.

of course, it will. only possible difference: some contracts include free access to public hotspot you normally pay for to use. But you don't need any sim at all to use your own wifi or other open spots.

Yeah, you can still use Wi-Fi on PAYG. Wireless availability isn’t affected by your phone’s tariff, as you’re connecting to the internet using a router (like home broadband, for example). Data, on the other hand, uses the mobile network, so you’ll either have an inclusive amount, or pay per MB.

I would go for a giff gaff sim. £5 a month gets you 100mins 100text and unlimited internet.
