Can Windows 8 tablets (like Microsoft Surface) be paired with an Xbox 360 controller?

that guy managed it with a Surface RT and the xbox wireless controller dongle, there's no reason it won't work on a surface pro but you'll need the reciever for a wireless one

Edit: Yeah looks like it'll work fine, some guy made a video of it connecting to a Surface RT http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bP1HyCzljPo

Kind of rubbish that it needs a receiver plugged in though, it's a shame it doesn't have bluetooth built in then you could just use a Dual Shock 3, and the drivers that make it show up as a 360 pad for compatibility, without needing a USB receiver plugged in

From looking around I'm not convinced that is correct though. The usb ones work and maybe you can use the pc adaptor dongle to get the wireless ones working but can't find anything else that says they work natively.

Not surprised that they didn't go for DS3 compatible option, but would have thought ms could have made the xbox controller work more conveniently, might have sold a few more controllers..
