It slipped through the cracks yesterday in all the BlackBerry 10 excitement, but nonetheless it's worth mentioning that Nokia is now officially rolling out Windows Phone 7.8 for its existing Lumia WP7 handsets.
That would be the Lumia 510 (not applicable in the UK), Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 in other words, with users set to receive a notification that the update is ready for them at some point over the next couple of weeks.
Anyone buying a new Nokia Lumia WP7 smartphone will already have Windows Phone 7.8 pre-loaded, but for existing owners it's been a long wait given rumours that the update's rollout was rumoured as being imminent months ago already.
Still, better late than never, and once the update lands you'll no doubt forget all about the wait, and the fact that it's still not Windows Phone 8 as you bask in new features such as the ability to resize tiles, make use of new theme colours and lock screen options.
When the update notification lands, simply hook your phone up to a computer using Zune for PC (or the Windows Phone for Mac) and follow the onscreen instructions.
