Is Windows Phone 8 battery life better than Android?

Is Windows Phone 8 battery life generally better than Android, or about the same?

Did the 800 have a huge battery issue at launch? And several updates to improve it?

Not directly relevant to wp8 of course but just relating to the quote above about it being a strong suite (sic)

From a randomly picked WP device review
Battery life has always been a strong suite for Windows Phone

No idea what that statement is based on... I haven't used any WP devices for long enough to guess in any reliable way

True - I think both the 800 and 900 required patches?!

Oh and wp8 needed a patch for battery life too, hard to know which battery tests were done before the patch and which after. Some say 920 better than 8x and some the opposite.... All a bit of a mess.

Well Windows RT tablets last longer than similarly specd Android tablets - and its the same OS kernel...

Might change when they actually get used though...
