Windows Phone gaming and apps compared to App Store/Google Play

What's the Windows Phone marketplace like compared to the App Store and Google Play? I'd assume it's still third priority, but does it at least get apps quicker than it used to?

In short: compared to iOS and Android it's still sh*t! There's no talking it up.
Yes, it has improved, but many staples are still absent and others that do exist are below par in terms of features - e.g. recently Flipboard finally made it to WP 8.1. It's not bad, but: Twitter integration is super-basic. You cannot filter content, see mentions only etc etc....

You can check it out via PC - http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store

Oh, and the marketplace app? It's bad. Search is ridiculously inefficient. Categories are beyond random... Often, I KNOW apps are there, but I cannot find them... You only find certain apps by dev... o_O
