Hot on the heels of Windows Phone Mango, Windows Phone Tango is primarily expected to introduce support for handsets with lower specs, alongside a handful of new features for existing WP users.
Ahead of an expected Mobile World Congress unveiling, Windows Phone Tango – or WPT, as no one seems to be calling it – has been leaked by some Russian dudes.
With Tango, Windows Phone peeps will be able to include multiple items in MMS messages, with support for pictures, video and audio; roaming can be set to off, domestic or international; and contacts can be exported to the SIM card.
As for those lower specs, manufacturers will be able to churn out handsets with just 256MB of RAM. Apps that demand more RAM will yield an error message on the Windows Phone Marketplace. Fragmentation, anyone?
As for Windows Phone snappers, you’ll be able to pick up handsets with modest 3MP cameras, down a couple of megapixels from the current range.
We’ll be poking Microsoft in the ribs at Mobile World Congress in… 11 days! Cripes.
