Wired Poll: iPhone 5 vs SGS3 vs Lumia 920
Wired currently ask readers to 'vote' for their next phone.
Choice is between the iPhone 5, the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Nokia Lumia 920.
A problem is of course that only one of those three phones is actually out and about.
And though we have been presented with a 'launch event' for both the iPhone 5 and the Lumia 920, we haven't got all the facts regarding Windows Phone 8; and we don't know how Apple's new maps and all the other new goodies will work out in real life.
Anyhow... at this point the results may come as a bit of a surprise to some...

You can head over to Wired and show Elop who's boss by casting your vote.

The gap is currently wider than when Jan put it up though.
A few more iPhone votes, but the SGS3 fans are slacking ![]()

Gap is wider to iphone too, but I'd guess that many can't say they are buying s3 as they already have...
First time I'd ever been on wireds site, is it some sort of magazine?

Gave a free vote to the Lumia. ![]()
Should finally outsell all the Lumias put together when out here, but that's not very hard lol.
iPhone 5 will sell like hotcakes as usual.

Yeah, you can buy Wired in print, to... monthly thing, I believe. Do tech and politics.
Some paranoidically inclined reckon it's a CIA/DARPA shill company
Seriously.
Apparently there are some odd things going on editorially speaking (like Popular Mechanics)

Tech and politics, odd mix, mind you we've done the same I guess, mind you we are an odd mix too.

Hahaha They are a big publication, though. From what I gather they get name-checked a lot in the US. So...kinda like us, too
But I'm waiting for a cheque from the Pentagon

"matt" is German. Vorsprung Durch Rechtschreibung ![]()
I'm German or the word for non-gloss finish in German is "matt"?
Pondlife Sep. 18, 2012 at 23:43
Shouldn't you know the answer to that ![]()

I now do, it seems "matt" is in fact German for "matte".

But seriously, how do we know Elop's not been at his old tricks with this poll? ![]()

Actually, both are acceptable spellings in the UK. They also have "mat" in the US.

Yeah found that online too wasn't in my old one though, but preferred the Matt being German for Matt, seems tidier.

A stopped clock...
...is right more often than him.
Glad of the thought anyway as makes me think of the Orbital track.

I know I'd seen rumours on here that Nokia maps was going to be on all wp8 phones didn't know it was solid info though until reading it in comments there.

"make available to"... guess it's up to the OEMs to decide if they want to use it? They'd be adverting Nokia ![]()
Pondlife Sep. 19, 2012 at 09:40
Yep advertising and presumably paying but removing one of Nokia's few differentiators and gaining a great maps app, I'd say the benefits out way any downside.
I can't think of any other Nokia app I'd want let alone want as much.

And also: many folks are getting tired of the iOS-Android duality...
I definately agree with this sentiment. Now that Apple and Google/Samsung/HTC etc are spending all their cash in the courtrooms rather than R&D, I'd love to see another big contender splash down and upset the pot.

Was there a word in my post that needed moderated? Or just me? :P

Sorry, we have a moderation bug, even me and Jan can't predict what will and won't get stopped (we also don't get notifications of comments awaiting approval, so we just have to happen upon them by luck).
I approved your comment, as you can see
