Why won’t data work on Asda mobile?

I’ve got a new Asda mobile SIM. My phone used to be Tesco Mobile, but it’s unlocked, so calls and texts work. Any ideas why data doesn’t?

Don't know what phone you have, but you may have to set up an internet access point (APN), or Asda customer care may have to sent you a push message with the right settings. Depends on your phone, really - most newer Androids and Nokias set up internet automatically, but you may have to do it manually, since it still has Tesco's defaults as it seems...

You probably need to give Asda Mobile a call and get them to send the internet settings to your phone. The phone probably still has the Tesco settings stored, and they aren't quite right for internet access.

Asda Mobile charge 20p per MB so can drink money if you use the internet a lot / check emails / download apps etc. Have a look at cheaper http://giffgaff.com/ which gives FREE internet, more texts for your money, more minutes for your money plus free 0800 numbers etc. No brainer really! SIM card is free, link also has £5 credit on it too so you can't lose. Asda have recently (7th March 2011) dropped thier unlimited tariff making it no longer a contender.
