Why won’t Wi-Fi work on my Orange San Francisco?

When I try to connect it says “obtaining IP address” then disconnects. What can I do?

I've seen this happen once before when my daughters SFC did the same. A factory reset did the job (after first off backing up all the Apps etc).
Are you trying to connect to your own WiFi? Or someone elses/public connection?

I get exactly the same with my Samsung Galaxy Ace, with both my private network at home and public open networks. I've seen differing recommendations from installing wifi management apps to resetting, not tried either yet however.

Was to a public connection. I could try a reset later, just seems to be a lot of hassle.THanks!

I received my new Samsung Galaxy Ace yesterday and can't connect to the wifi at home or at work. Spent 40 minutes on the phone to Orange this morning and on their advice reset the phone. Still won't connect to either. They say there is a fault with the phone and will replace it but I have read about so many people having the same problem that I am not convinced.
