Is it worth paying extra to get an iPhone 5s instead of an iPhone 5c if you don't care about the fingerprint scanner?

Is it worth paying extra to get an iPhone 5s instead of an iPhone 5c if you don't care about the fingerprint scanner? I actually prefer the look of the 5c. Less sterile!

Depends how much £80 matters to you really. The 5S has way more power than the 5C and will likely get updates for at least an extra year (the 5C being very similar to the 5 under the skin).

If you're only going to keep it for a year or two, then there's probably not much in it really.

If the scanner is irrelevant, and the camera** doesn't matter too much, I would go for the 5c! It wipes the floor with the battery in the 5s. And looks aside, I find it feels nicer. (**having said that: the 5c has a much improved camera over the original 5)

Resale value needs considering too, especially if you're intending to keep the phone for a relatively short period of time. The 5S will hold its value much better than the 5C, due to being the flagship model (and the fact that the 5C is widely seen as a bit of a flop, especially when compared to the 5S).

that is true. 5c you can find here 2nd hand as unwanted xmas gifts for 60% of its price. 5s no such luck...

Yup, I've not looked at the percentages, but I know you can get a 2nd hand 5C for way less than a 2nd hand 5S here in the UK too (over and above the existing £80 price difference).

OP, maybe you should get a 2nd hand or refurbished 5C? You'd save loads of money and the resale value issue would be instantly solved. You'd even have some warranty left seeing as neither the 5C or 5S have been out anywhere near a year.

Yep. Good idea.
