Being a manufacturer of exclusively premium products and offering the biggest selling individual smartphone in the iPhone, Apple has taken its fair share of marketing pot shots over the years.
This is easily one of the most surreal examples yet, however, as Xiaomi president and co-founder Lin Bin assaults the iPhone 6 with a frying pan. Seriously.
Despite focusing almost entirely on China and the surrounding areas, Xiaomi is fast making a name for itself in the smartphone world, sitting somewhere just behind Samsung and Apple in terms of volume shipped.
Ironically, Xiaomi is often referred to as “the Chinese Apple” on account of its design quality, and here the Chinese manufacturer turns its critical attention to Team Cupertino.
In a bizarre video lasting 47 seconds (YouTube), the Xiaomi team essentially batter the iPhone 6 till it morphs into a Xiaomi Mi Note.
Seemingly the point is that the iPhone 6 has a protruding rear camera, while the rear shooter on the Xiaomi Mi Note sits flush. Great stuff!
The Xiaomi Mi Note launched last week alongside the Mi Note Pro, though head of international and former Google guy, Hugo Barra, says it’ll be “a few years” before such products hit the western world. Gah!
