How does the Xperia Arc compare to dual-core phones?

Is the Xperia Arc anywhere near as good as say the Samsung Galaxy S2? I can get one cheapish (£300) from a friend, but not sure...

£300 is what it should have cost on launch imho.
Personally, I wouldn't recommend it even at that price.
Camera aside, it is one of the worst high-end devices I ever used.

Think about why it's being sold cheap ;)

There is nothing wrong with the Xperia Arc it is a brilliant phone. Internet text sorting is far better than the SGS2. THere is nothing that the SGS2 can do that the Arc cant at this time. however in another 12 months im sure the SGS2 will be more future proof than the Arc

okay.
Just, what is "internet text sorting"?

Internet text sorting is where paragraphs on a webpage can be tapped to fit the screen. Different phones offer different methods but the Arc has been tested to be the fastest and most effective when performing this task. ideal for reading the headlines without endless pinch to zoom or layout setup faff.

okay, gotcha.
I'm mostly using Opera, so that is not an issue. Performs identically on basically all phones (well, more or less)
