Sony Ericsson has accidentally leaked a new Xperia Android handset. The Xperia Acro has popped up on Sony Ericsson’s PC Companion tool in Japan.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro looks similar to the Xperia Arc, possibly a bit chunkier, and – according to Xperia Blog – will have near-identical specs to the Xperia Arc, with a few extras thrown in for the Japanese.
The Acro will reportedly have the same 1GHz processor, 4.2in screen and 8.1MP camera as the Arc, and will add NFC support, a TV Tuner and infrared capability.
There are two different versions, though they’re expected to be simple GSM and CDMA variants, which will be carried on different networks.
Initially I wondered if there had been a Donkey Kong-style cock-up in translation somewhere, but the Xperia Arc also appears on PC Companion as a separate phone.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Acro is expected to hit Japan in May/June.
