You’ll forgive me if I fall asleep while penning this news item. This is the fourth time I’ve written about the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray in as many weeks, and I’m having trouble seeing what makes the phone so special.
Contrary to previous suggestions that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray would land in August, O2 and Three now reckon it’ll be September before the “irresistibly elegant Android smartphone” arrives. You’re gutted, right?
In recent weeks, The Carphone Warehouse and Play.com both suggested an August arrival. The former has now changed its pre-register page to read September, however Play.com is sticking with August 15 for now. We reckon that’ll change soon.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray has a 3.3in display, 1GHz processor and 8.1MP camera; pretty much an Xperia Arc with a smaller screen. It’ll be available in gold, pink, black and white.
Forgive my cynicism. Sony Ericsson has vowed to release a silly number of Android phones in its bid to take over the world, and the Xperia Ray is, like, the 684th (slight exaggeration) we’ve met this year.
