YouTube goes 1440p for LG G3 users

YouTube goes 1440p for LG G3 usersThe problem with being an early adopter in the screen resolution game has always been the same: finding full-resolution content to play on your pixel-packing display.

Good news for LG G3 owners, though, YouTube now allows you to play clips at the G3's full Quad HD native resolution of 2560 x 1440.

The raising of the bar from 1080p to 1440p arrives courtesy of an update to the YouTube app, and while the 5.5in G3 is the only mainstream device able to take advantage at present, the move is clearly in preparation for the flood of other Quad HD (and even better) smartphones we're sure to see in the months to come.

For those still having to make do with plain old Full HD, there is a consolation of sorts: at this early stage of the post-full HD game (on smartphones, anyway), YouTube's newly adopted 1440p support mainly just shifts the resolution bottle-neck.

Now the focus shifts to building a decent volume of content actually created in Quad HD or beyond in the first place.

Is there a huge difference when watching something on a 720p screen phone and a Quad HD phone?

Personally I think so, if you play the pre-installed QHD content, can tell its very very good quality, looks better than 1080p movies I have installed.
nothing is out in QHD, its almost pointless, the phone does render most things in QHD, which is a bonus, you do notice it with smaller objects, they stay clear and sharp ALL the time.

I've had it a month so far, its the best Phone I've had in a while. Previous phone was the Iphone 5s.
