ZTE Light II hits the UK

ZTE Light II hits the UKRemember the original ZTE Light tablet? Nah, me neither. Now we’re blessed with a successor, unsurprisingly called the ZTE Light II.

In keeping with ZTE tradition, the tablet isn’t particularly jaw-dropping in the specs department, but carries a rather pleasant price tag.

The ZTE Light II weighs in at 402g, with a 7in TFT-LCD capacitive display, Qualcomm MSM8255 processor, an FM radio, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and a battery offering “5.5 hours of movie play”.

Other ZTE Light II specs include 4GB internal storage (which can be augmented via microSD), a 3MP rear shooter and 0.3MP on the front for sexy video calls.

"ZTE V9A is ZTE's first own-branded tablet made available in the UK and we are very excited about its entry into the market. We plan to continue our progress in the UK, introducing ZTE branded consumer devices with key capabilities at reasonable prices," screamed Wu Sa, Director, Mobile Device Operations, ZTE.

"Our UK strategy is very much focused on providing quality devices - a factor which is apparent through our growth and development in the handset arena.”

Price? You’ll be able to pick up a ZTE Light II for around £235. Not too shabby.

Not too bad, but with the 1Ghz honeycomb touting (with ICS incoming in march) Archos 80 already out and the 1.5Ghz dual core version coming out 1st March for £219.99 (according to amazon)

this is pretty under specced and overpriced

JanSt / MOD  Feb. 15, 2012 at 11:22

In fairness though - the ZTE looks better than the Archos. And the 80 is pretty laggy for its specs. At times it feels like only a nailgun could get a response from the sticky Archos plastic screen...

That seems expensive compared to MANY other tablets currently touting more memory, ICS, better CPU and bigger screens at ~£250.

ZTE - Up your game.

HTC Flyer is £200 right now. I would go with HTC rather than ZTE.

In principle I agree with CTPA, but in reality I'd buy neither.

Went with Streak 7 for £100; so yeah, I would not buy either one.

Streak 7 was discontinued in November. Dell was getting rid of their stock.

HTC Flyer Expired and still in stock

Huh, didnt realise they were going for £100 after it was discontinued, got yourself a bargain there!

this doesn't seem that great a deal to me.
I got the 3G 32gb HTC Flyer for £230 in December.
Wouldn't trade the Flyer for one of these.
