The ZTE Nubia Z5 (Nubia being some sort of fancy high-end ZTE sub-brand) launched at the end of December last year, and six months later it’s being tipped for miniature action.
The original ZTE Nubia Z5 was notable for its design (which went down in collaboration with Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni), and for managing to cram in a 2,300mAh battery despite the 7.6mm thickness and 126g weight. Nice work.
As for the wee version, sensibly called the ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini, it’s expected to retain the design traits of its big bro, which is good.
As for ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini specs, there’s not a whisper at this early stage, though obviously the display will be smaller than 5in. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini has a 4.3in display, and the HTC One Mini is expected to be the same size.
For what it’s worth, GSMinsider has conducted some sleuthing and confirmed the ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini’s model number as ZTE NX402, with the handset being approved by Chinese authorities.
Expect more freshly squeezed ZTE Nubia Z5 Mini rumour juice in the coming weeks.
